You won't be sorry. Unless you have read that story before, in which case, you might be sorry. Well not sorry, but a bit annoyed.

I haven't blogged much lately, I know that you've missed me. Can't say I blame ya, I'm a pretty entertaining guy. I don't know how you've coped without a regular dose of random crap from me. Well I can only apologise, but I've been very busy with school work. It's now mid January, meaning I have 5 months until school is over. So I have decided to stop being such a miserable bastard and start working.
My to do list is currently about 4 pages long, here is one page that Althea decided to graffiti.
I never did make Althea a sandwich, I'm a bit of a knob like that.
As well as school work I have also been applying to UNI. My application form is in, and now I just need to wait and see. I applied to one course in Aberdeen, two in Edinburgh and one in Ayrshire. I don't want to name the actual universities I applied to, for fear of censorship.
I am still not sure if that's what I want to do, but it makes sense to keep my options open.
For my uni application form a personal statement is needed, this is so the UNI can get a better perspective of what kind of person you are.
I sent them this
All I did was change the name from Jimmy McGhie to Andy G.
Genius eh?
I did get some truly fantastic news the other day. The film I made last year "The Playhouse" is going to be shown at the Student showcase at a cinema in Aberdeen this June. HELL FUCKING YEAH!!!
You are all invited.
(You have to pay though.)
So now it's time to get on with paperwork, storyboarding, finishing my feature script, writing, casting, rehearsing, filming, editing, panicking that I didn't get the right shots, freaking out, preparing a showreel, interviewing for uni, finishing all my course work, then getting that job in RS McColl.
Shit.
I really don't have time to talk to you right now.
See you in June.

I've been on holiday this week so not much to report. Ironically I have done more school work this week than I have done all year.
I wrote an essay even though it is not due until November, it was meant to be 500 words. I wrote 1423. It was about planning for your productions this year and future employment. In one section you are meant to write about three potential employers after leaving college. I wrote about The BBC, a Random Production Company in Edinburgh and Blockbuster Video. Sadly I think Blockbuster video is the most realistic ending for me.
As well as my essay, I wrote two of my factual scripts which I am hoping to film within the next few weeks.
The first is a cooking show:
Cooking with Chef Dave
In this show Chef Dave teaches you how to make a cottage pie.
Fairly simple, some of you may remember Chef Dave from his fantastic appearance in My Film.
Second is a 3 minute promotional video for Bob's hotel. I sent him the script so here's hoping he likes it.
Next up I need to do a longer film, between 8-25 minutes, I have a few ideas which I am toying with, I'll keep you posted. Not that anyone actually gives a shit. But writing this blog keeps me distracted from the quite terrifying thought that in just a few months, school will be finished and I will be unemployed and have no choice but to apply to work in Blockbuster Video, and probably not get hired. I fucking hate the public, and no doubt this will come across in any job interview.
I haven't done much else this week, I made a video called Grappa Versus Otto The Octopus. I have decided that this is going to be a series of videos. Mainly featuring Grappa versus "something" I am hoping that one day Grappa will be defeated and die a horrible and painful death.
I hate that dog.
So far I have filmed 4 Grappa Versus films. I should point out that these are not high quality productions, they are me pissing about with a stuffed toy, a crazy killer demon dog from hell who is also retarded, and my eye phone.
So don't expect much, but like I said it kept me amused.
Just wait until you see episode 4.
Grappa Versus Percy The Pig, that one is brilliant.
It features a pig who shoots laser beams!
Here's another video I made a couple of days ago while a bit bored at Campaworld.

Time for another retelling of an epic week in the re-education of Andy G. This entry is quite long, but as a little treat, I've included a couple of videos. The one at the end is particularly good. But you better read through everything I have written first! Otherwise you are a bastard. Sorry but them's the rules!
MONDAY
I did not go to class on Monday, not due to laziness, I was filming. The art students were taking part in a competition called The Big Draw. I'm not sure of the exact details of the competitions, it's got something to do with drawing.
The art students were taking part by building sand sculptures. Myself and my class mate Ian, went along on a chilly Monday morning to film them. It was a fairly easy job, hence the reason I liked it.
Here's a video to show my excitement.
If you can't see the video then stop reading this crap on facebook and CLICK HERE.
Some of the sculptures were really good. Some were not.
This was my favourite.
It's pretty cool eh?
That's a gant hand grabbing a tube of something. Anything with a giant hand gets my approval. Plus the girl making it was a hottie.
Then we saw this one. What do you think this is?
Whatever you just guessed, you're wrong!
Myself and Ian were equally as puzzled as I assume you now are.
We asked the lady making this what it was. She seemed angry we did not realise,
"Isn't it obvious?" She said with a hint of disgust in her voice.
"Errmmm, a chest of drawers?" I ventured a guess.
I did not guess correctly. This seemed to insult her further.
The above sand sculpture, was a pencil sharpener. More specifically five pencil sharpeners stuck together.
Obviously.
The five piece pencil sharpener is the backbone of the stationary industry. I can't remember the last time I took out my pencil case and and 5 piece pencil sharpener didn't fall out.
TUESDAY
Tuesday is my day off from school, but I thought I should explain the above facebook status updates. I received an email from my guidance tutor asking for a meeting. I had no idea what it was about. After sitting with my guidance tutor for twenty minutes I was practically speechless. Unfortunately I would not feel comfortable divulging what was discussed in this meeting. Suffice to say certain things were brought to my attention and the situation has now been rectified.
On a totally unrelated note. I would like to categorically state that I bare no ill will to anyone in my class and that every single one of my classmates are very nice people. I like them all an equal amount. And I am sure in years to come I will remember them fondly, as people I met.
On another totally unrelated note. I would like to point out that in this life, some people, although they are very nice people, they may have a heart of gold and would do anything for anyone. Some people, are morons! Some people and childish, immature and a bit stupid. Some people really need to grow the fuck up. I'm not saying I know any of these people. I'm just saying that some people in the great big old world of ours are like that. And if, someone like that, for example did or said something stupid, I would make fun of that person for doing or saying that stupid thing. Because even though some people are very nice, they are also morons! Being a nice person does not stop you from being fucking annoying!
And I would like to think, that if perhaps I had offended any of these morons that populate the world, I would like to think that they would come to me, as a grown up, and say something. Just act as a mature adult. Ask me to leave well enough alone. And I would. I would like to think that if I was forced to spend time with one of these morons, through work or some other situation that bound us together through no fault of our own. I would like to think that they would not run off to someone and complain about me. I would like to think that someone would come to me as a grown up and discuss our differences and if I was upsetting them, they would simply ask me to leave them alone. We are after all grown ups, are we not? I would never intentionally attack anyone. Only if someone had done or said something stupid enough to be worthy of a witty yet slightly insulting comment. Also if anyone had a problem with what I had written on my blog, simply do not read it, do not go to someone in a position of authority to complain about it. Just ignore it. It's not hurting you is it? And it's my blog so I'll write about whatever I damn well please! If you have a problem with that, then go fuck yourself!
But as I said, those past three paragraphs were completely unrelated to school, work or anything else significant going on in my life, just random blethering from your old pal Andy G.
WEDNESDAY
Wednesday morning I slept in, so much so that I woke up at 12:30pm and missed my morning class. Oops. So much for my 100% attendance record. Wednesday afternoon was quite a productive one for me. I wrote a pitch for my 3 minute wonder. I am planning on shooting a promotional video for the hotel that Bob runs on the west coast of Scotland. I then spent the next two hours watching other promotional video's for hotels and talking to Scott about killer ninja robots. It was fun.
THURSDAY
Thursday was another day off for me. I spent most of it in bed. I really am quite lazy. I was meant to be working, but I went in and Vinnie (the boss) was counting the wages. I don't think he realised how much I have been working lately and how much he pays me. He then insisted I have the night off. So I headed to the Toby Pub Quiz with Mark, Aders and Lee. Here's a pic of Lee concentrating hard on a question about elephant's knees.
It was great to see these guys. I am quite sad these days. I never go out to play. But that's not all my fault. No one ever wants to go out to play. Lee is frequently in Glasgow doing up his new house, Mark is enjoying married life with Kim, and Aders is often down south visiting his girlfriend.
Losers.
FRIDAY
Friday was quite possibly the best day in class ever, in the history of everything. Regular readers will know that Fridays are my afternoon in the studio and until recently we had been doing one on one interviews. Well today we moved onto music videos.
This is the first one we shot.
If you cannot see the video above then stop reading this crap on Facebook and CLICK HERE
I think this may quite possibly be the greatest music video ever made, ever. After this we went on to shoot, a couple more with different songs and different people starring, and directing. This was by far the best class ever! Scott (who made a music video for his film last year) was clearly happy with his performance. Once again if you can't see the video above then stop reading this crap on facebook and CLICK HERE. Fucking idiot! This was the attempt at the second track on the album. I also had a go at singing, I performed "Afternoon Delight" by Ron Burgandy. One day if your very, very lucky you might get to see it.
Here's some pics from my week:
Apparently this sculpture was based on an ornament these two brought along, and was not a giant tattooed boob as myself and Ian thought.
The lecturer hard at work making the sign for "The Big Draw"
Ian Hay, camera man.
Struan and Kev interview Maija about what she hates about Facebook!
Cat and Scott Rock Out!
Here, Martin has joined them as the straight man.
(no pun intended)
The group reforms but with Stephen as the guitar man
Struan and Ian hard at work.
And as an added bonus, here's the song they were singing. Recorded on my eye phone. now this is the last time I'm gonna say this, but if you can't see the video above then your fucking retarded, I have told you hundreds of times, STOP READING THIS CRAP ON FACEBOOK AND CLICK HERE!

I awoke unusually early, as anyone who has ever shared a room with me attest, I am not a morning person. But on this morning I was full of energy. I woke up and had time for breakfast, and a cup of tea. And I even managed to get to school early. I turned up at 10:30am! Yeah. You read that right. 10:30 am. I was particularly proud of myself. Unfortunately the class didn't start until 11. The only other person waiting was the really annoying girl, I had a choice, I could either stand about here for half an hour waiting for the tutor and make small talk with this girl, or leave. I kept myself amused in the computer centre for half an hour then headed to back class.
Monday is work experience class, we are meant to be working on a C.V. and a cover letter for a potential job when we leave college. We had done this last year for another class, so I updated my address and did very little else. I then returned home to watch Top Gear and Dragons Den on Dave. Just another manic Monday.
Tuesday was yet another hectic day off. I watched Alan Partridge on DVD and ate some pizza.
Wednesday was back in the studio in the morning for yet more 1 on 1 interviews. Almost everyone has had a chance to direct now. Last week the teacher told us we can change up the script if we like and add in some of our own video footage. No one chose to do this.
Becca was volunteering that day as a hair model for the hair and beauty department, so she disappeared around 10am and returned an hour later looking like this.
She had to keep those curlers in for another 3 hours. I found this very funny! This didn't stop her from working though.
Here she is hard at work on the lighting desk. By hard at work, I mean sitting.
In the afternoon my production crew (Quick Productions) were filming Ian's 3 minute wonder up in the hair and beauty studio. This year we have to produce 3 short films. A 3 minute wonder, a pet hate and a "big" project. These can be on anything we want, factual of fictional. I am doing two factual and one drama. I think. Ian is doing his 3 minute wonder on make up for the movies. Filming for this was relatively simple. We took two camera's, positioned one on a static shot from a high angle and one on the dolly which I operated, so we could change up the shot with ease. Scott got put on lighting duty, a job he clearly enjoyed.
Here's a pic of Becca getting her make up applied.
Not being someone who uses make up on a daily basis, I was curious as to why it was so dark. Was she going to be Batman or something?
I did ask the woman applying the make up but she ignored me.
Ian in many ways is a genius, his is the first 3 minute wonder to be filmed in the class, and it was incredibly easy to film. Now comes the edit which will be a bit harder and the voice over. But once again Ian has made a good film in a quick and easy way. His film last year was very good and again was a short shoot which was not overly complicated. The man is a genius, whether or not he is an evil genius remains to be seen.
I don't want it to look like I'm taking it easy here. Far from it. I have a hell of a lot of work to do. And I do need to let my tutors know where I am. We can't just go in when we feel lie it. We missed class to film but we had to check in with our tutor first. I also arrived at this class early and found myself a tad bored while waiting to get in. So I made KP a hat.
I think she liked it.
After filming We returned to class to let our tutor know we were done and then headed off, but as I was leaving I noticed that there were post it notes all over the halls.
This was on the door at the bottom of the stairs.
And this was on the hand sanitise machine thing.
I did wonder if perhaps the college moral officer had posted these everywhere in order to lift our spirits. Then I remembered I spotted KP with a pack of post it notes earlier and it all started to make sense.
Friday was my turn to direct in the studio, and I was looking forward to it. I did rise to the challenge set down by our tutor, I changed the script for the interview. Instead of an interview about life at the college, I did a show called Book Look, the show where we take a look at a book.
I think it went quite well. I enjoyed myself and that's all that really matters in the end. Things did not go exactly as planned but I was happy enough with the result, once I get a chance I'll get into the edit suite, jazz it up a bit and let all you wonderful people have a look.
The performance of the day however has to go to Stephen, who introduced us to "Wild Willie Whipass"
This was both hilarious and terrifying!
The director of this particular interview was incredibly nervous. Don't know why though, this was not an assessment, it was just a practice to get used to directing a multi camera environment and to get used to the equipment, who gives a shit if you fuck it up? I certainly didn't. She was perhaps right to be nervous, as she did do a bit of a balls up job of the thing, showing the guest when nothing was happening and camera shots that made no sense. But at the end of the day who cares. It's just a practice. Who gives a shit?
This was certainly the attitude when it came to the last interview of the day when the director, Scott, decided to go a little "off book." One of the camera men, invented a move called "the shark." This basically involves moving the camera round the back of the presenter and zooming in on the guest. During the interview Scott the director gave the command, "release the shark." It didn't pan out exactly as planned as you could see me in the back ground scratching my arse, but it was fun none the less.
And so ends another week in the re education of Andy G. Who knows what new and exciting challenges will await me next week, probably nothing particularly exciting, which will no doubt lead to an equally dull blog post this time next week.

It's been a very busy week in the life of Andy G, not so much at school, but with other stuff.
Last Sunday and Monday I spent moving my stuff into Althea and Ivano's house. I am now officially a lodger. Which is a bit sad, at 28 I have reached an age where a lot of my friends are buying houses, getting married and having babies.Where as I am selling my stuff on e-bay and moving into my friends spare room cos I can't afford the rent in my flat. On the upside Althea & Ivano are both very good cooks so I shouldn't go hungry.
School was closed on Monday for a local holiday so most of this day was spent unpacking and organising my new room. I do have work to do for my Monday afternoon class, but I can't actually remember what it is. I am sure I'll be able to blag it.
Wednesday was back to school, multi camera in the morning which means another fun filled day of interviews in the studio. At one point Struan was struggling to see properly due to the lights shining in his eyes. I suggested this.
It seemed to help.
Wednesday afternoon we spent talking with our lecturer about the short film he recently shot in Edinburgh. It sounds really good and I can't wait to see it. We then had another production meeting within our various crews. Ours went quite well. Ian and Scott both had some stuff to show the group and we had a good discussion. Sadly I am a bit behind in the script writing department, a lot of my time has been taken up with moving and general laziness. I am hoping to get my idea's scripted sometime this week.
After our production meetings I annoyed Struan to get his film on You tube. It's very good. Due to technical difficulties this still has not been done. I then just hung about and did very little. I spoke to a few class mates about various projects. At one point I saw cats notebook lying on a table, Her group had just finished a production meeting. This is what I saw in her notebook.
I can only assume that she is making a film about a mushroom mutant man thing and a robot who falls in love. I look forward to that. I then saw the weirdest film I have ever seen. Ever.
Robert, our german classmate, took part in a film competition in Germany. You were given a concept and 48 hours to make a short film. The concept was reality versus actuality.
If you can't see the video below then stop reading this crap on facebook and CLICK HERE
Friday was back in the studio for more interviews. Everyone needs a turn to direct so this exercise is becoming slightly tedious. It's the same interview situation over and over again. We have now done it about 30 times. Poor KP couldn't take the pressure anymore so she hid underneath a table in the gallery.
After a couple of rounds of interviews on Friday afternoon we went back to the classroom and our teacher has decided that those of us still do direct the interview situation, (myself included) are going to have a slightly different task. We must come up with a new script, and include some video footage (VT). This script must include several different camera shots and movements. it doesn't sound very complicated. But it is. So that should keep me amused for an hour or two.
And so another week in the re-education of Andy G is over. A pretty dull blog entry for a pretty dull week. I hope all is cool with you, who ever you are and where ever you may be in the world.
